About the Conference

The GEN Donald R. Keith Memorial Capstone Conference is a forum for undergraduate students in systems engineering and related disciplines to present their capstone work to professionals, scholars, clients, and fellow students from other colleges and universities. It invites and attracts undergrads to compete for presentation awards along with cadets from the Department of Systems Engineering at the United States Military Academy (USMA).

This is a regional conference of the Society for Industrial and Systems Engineering (SISE), which publishes the conference proceedings.

The conference welcomes papers that describe the authors' work in a senior capstone project in systems or industrial engineering, engineering management, systems and decision sciences, data science, or operations research, with special emphasis on novel approaches, discoveries, and innovative applications.

About GEN Donald R. Keith

GEN Donald R. Keith served over 35 years in the U.S. Army, culminating as Commanding General of the Army Materiel Development and Readiness Command. A 1949 West Point graduate and World War II veteran, he held key leadership roles in Germany, Korea, Vietnam, and the Pentagon, where he oversaw the Army’s landmark “Big Five” modernization effort. After retiring in 1984, he continued supporting national defense through industry leadership and board service. The GEN Donald R. Keith Endowment continues to enhance cadet education in Systems Engineering, honoring his lasting legacy of service and innovation.

Archive of Past Conferences

This is a regional conference of the Society for Industrial and Systems Engineering (SISE), established in 2012. It conducts regional and annual conferences. It also publishes an online journal - Industrial and Systems Engineering Review (ISER).

Papers and abstracts from the Keith Memorial Capstone Conference are published in the conference proceedings. Top papers are featured in the ISER scholarly journal.
