Stay Connected - Alumni Events

West Point alumni events offer graduates meaningful opportunities to reconnect with classmates, engage with the academy, and strengthen their bond with the Long Gray Line. From reunions and tailgates to regional gatherings and special ceremonies, these events celebrate shared experiences and foster continued commitment to West Point’s values and mission.

Spring is the season for graduates and other members of the extended West Point Community to gather here and abroad for formal celebrations of the March 16, 1802, establishment of the Corps of Engineers at West Point that would “constitute a military academy.”

Join us this summer for the annual West Point Golf Invitational! Support the premier West Point Golf tournament planned and hosted by our alumni for the entire West Point Community. Attendees will include USMA leadership, veterans, graduate leaders, active-duty service members, and local business partners.

Whether you’re a recent graduate eager to relive your “Beast” triumph or a seasoned Old Grad looking to reconnect with the institution that shaped you, Grad March Back offers a unique chance to revisit West Point in its most elemental form: cadets marching in unison, pushing through adversity, and leaning on the grit and unity that defines the academy.

For the public, it’s a moving scene that captures the heart and soul of West Point. It’s one thing to read about the strength of the Long Gray Line; it’s another to witness it in person - or even better - to join in.

The academy hosts 15 reunions each year for USMA classes celebrating their 5th through 75th-year reunions. In general, these reunions are scheduled as shown below.

  • Fall – 25-, 30-, 35-, 40- and 45-year reunions
  • Homecoming – 5-, 10-, 15-, and 20-year reunions
  • Graduation Week – 50-, 55-, 60-, 65-, 70-, and 75-year reunions

Give Back - Advance the Academy

There are many meaningful ways for alumni to give back to West Point and make a lasting impact on the Corps of Cadets and the academy’s mission. Whether through financial support, volunteering time and expertise, or mentoring future leaders, every contribution helps strengthen the Long Gray Line and uphold the values that define a West Point education.

Margin of Excellence

The Margin of Excellence is where tradition meets innovation - where the legacy of the Long Gray Line is carried forward by each new class of cadets. As an alumnus, this program honors your own journey while ensuring that future graduates are prepared to lead with integrity, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to service.

This program is a powerful expression of the academy’s commitment to developing leaders of character who are prepared to serve our nation with distinction. While the federal government provides funding for the essential elements of a cadet’s education - academics, military training, and physical development - the Margin of Excellence represents the vital enhancements that elevate the West Point experience from excellent to exceptional.

These experiences include a wide range of programs and opportunities that deepen cadets’ intellectual, ethical, and professional development. From advanced research initiatives and world-class academic centers, to cultural immersion trips, international internships, and service-learning experiences, the Margin of Excellence ensures that cadets are exposed to the full range of challenges and perspectives they’ll face as officers in today’s complex global environment.

For alumni, contributing to the Margin of Excellence is an opportunity to actively shape the future of the Corps of Cadets. Your support helps fund hands-on leadership experiences, competitive academic and athletic teams, character-building seminars, capstone projects, and unique summer training assignments that go far beyond the classroom. It also allows West Point to recruit and retain top-tier faculty, enhance facilities, and maintain the high standards that have long defined our alma mater.

50-Year Affiliation Program

The purpose of the 50-Year Affiliation Program, which began with the Class of 1949 and 1999, is to strengthen the ties between the graduates of yesterday and the cadets of today as both groups work together to strengthen the Long Gray Line as it serves our nation.

USMA 2035

Known as the Modernization Plan, the academy is undergoing a holistic 15- to 20-year modernization effort to renovate, retrofit, and modernize facilities, capabilities, and infrastructure to provide the most highly qualified, capable, and ready officers of tomorrow.
