West Point is located approximately 50 miles north of New York City in the picturesque Hudson Valley. We encourage all prospective cadets to visit the U.S. Military Academy at West Point to experience the historic grounds and get a feel for cadet life.
Our Admissions Tours offer a detailed informational briefing about the application process, as well as a guided tour of West Point's grounds with an admissions officer. This visit will showcase the academic, leadership, and physical pillars that serve as the foundation of the West Point experience. It allows future & current applicants to get a glimpse into cadet life.
Tours are offered on select weekdays during the academic year & summer - pre-registration is required. Capacity is limited, and tours are intended only for the candidate and their parent(s).
Open only to current applicants with an appointment offer, a conditional offer of admissions (Letter of Assurance), or by invitation of a regional admissions officer.
Overnight visits provide current candidates with the opportunity to experience a full day in the life of a West Point cadet, shadowing their cadet host to classes, meals, extracurriculars, and more. Candidates will stay overnight in the barracks and will eat meals in the West Point Mess Hall.
Overnight visits are only available to candidates in the current application cycle who have an appointment offer, a conditional offer of admission (Letter of Assurance), or are highly competitive and have received an invitation from their regional admissions officer. Overnight visits are offered select weekdays during the academic semesters, and pre-registration with application portal login is required.
Looking for a more immersive experience? At the Summer Leaders Experience (SLE), you will explore West Point from all angles, including our high-tech educational facilities, team-building athletic activities, and realistic military training.
Approximately 1,100 students are selected to attend the weeklong SLE program each summer. You must be between your junior and senior years in high school to attend.
Before you come visit - or just to get an experience of West Point - all prospective cadets and parents are invited to explore the campus virtually.
