LTC Bodwell is an instructor in the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering. He currently teaches CH275, the Introduction to Biology course. After completing his Doctor of Optometry degree, he commissioned as an Active Duty Captain in the Medical Service Corps. His career included a residency in Vision Rehabilitation from the SUNY College of Optometry, two detachment commands with one deployment to Kuwait and Jordan, a short stint as a battalion executive officer, and multiple years of clinical experience in Army optometry clinics. Most recently he served as the Chief of the Department of Specialty Care at Keller Army Community Hospital, also at West Point. In addition to teaching full time, LTC Bodwell continues to intermittently see patients and provide eye care to the West Point community.
