Dr. Carol A. Anderson, Ph.D.

Dr. Carol Anderson is a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering, working under Dr. Ryan Limbocker to better understand aggregation kinetics of the Alzheimer’s protein amyloid-β. She earned her B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in physics, minoring in chemistry in 2020. From there, she pursued a Master of Science in biology at George Mason University, focusing on microbiology and infectious disease research. From there, she worked at American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) as a founding member of the Drug Development group and under BSL-3 conditions with the High Containment Laboratory Team. 

She then pursued a Ph.D. in biosciences at George Mason University, once again conducting infectious disease research, including under BSL-3 conditions. In tandem with this, she worked as Dr. Aarthi Naryanan’s research manager. After completion of her Ph.D. training, Dr. Anderson transitioned to USMA as a post-doctoral research fellow.
