
CPT Christopher Canty is originally from Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2016 after majoring in History. After graduation, he commissioned as an Infantry Officer and reported to Fort Benning, Georgia for initial training. Following the completion of that training he was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado where he served as both a mounted and dismounted reconnaissance Platoon Leader. While assigned in that role, he deployed in support of Operation Joint Guardian to Kosovo as part of KFOR24 in 2018. He later served as a Company Executive Officer and Assistant Operations Officer in the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment before reporting back to Fort Benning in the fall of 2020 for the Maneuver Captain's Career Course. He conducted a branch transfer and became an Armor Officer, immediately assuming command of N Troop, 3rd Squadron, 16th Cavalry Regiment based at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Chris earned his MA in history from George Washington University in May of 2025. He currently instructs in the American History Division at the United States Military Academy.
