CPT Chris Gramling is a Space Operations Officer and Instructor in the Department of Systems Engineering. He commissioned as an Air Defense Artillery Officer from the United States Military Academy in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Management. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Following commissioning, CPT Gramling served in 1st Battalion, 62nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas, where he held roles as Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Tactical Director, and Fire Control Officer in Charge. During this time, he deployed to United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

After transitioning to Functional Area 40, Space Operations, he was assigned to 1st Space Brigade at Fort Carson, Colorado, where he served on one of the Army’s first Space Control Planning Teams. He later deployed again to USCENTCOM in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and subsequently supported United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) on a specialized team integrating Space, Cyber, and Special Operations capabilities.

CPT Gramling joined the Systems Team in July 2025 and currently teaches EM384: Analytical Methods for Engineering Management. He and his wife, Haley, have three children: Lillyanne, Carter, and Emma.
