He joined the Chilean Military Academy in 2010 and did a semester exchange program as a cadet to USMA. After commissioning, completed Chilean Mountain School, Platoon Leadership School and Platoon Commanders Battle Course in the UK among others. He served in different mountain units in Chile and taught at the Infantry School and served as a Peacekeeper in the Althea Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
