Dr. Jeremy Cole is a member of the Robotics Research Center (RRC), where he conducts research on navigation and mapping for unmanned systems. He is an assistant professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and the lead robotics engineer for RRC.

Dr. Cole obtained his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University. His dissertation focused on localizing cybernetic insects using low-cost inertial measurement units for use in centimeter-scale environments during urban search-and-rescue operations. 

His current research areas include multi-agent simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), autonomous navigation in GPS-denied environments, sensor integration and payload design for unmanned systems, and novel helmet-mounted payloads for dismounted troops.
