CPT Gerald Prater enlisted in the Army in 2010 as an intelligence analyst and served in the III Corps G2 before being selected for the Green to Gold Program. He commissioned as an infantry officer through ROTC in 2016 from Arizona State University. He has served as a Stryker platoon leader, scout platoon leader, executive officer, aide-de-camp, assistant S3, and a mechanized infantry company commander. 

He is currently an instructor of philosophy in the Department of Law and Philosophy. CPT Prater is married to the former Lacey Heilman, and they have four kids, Jaden, Isaiah, Presley, and Gerald III.
