Dr. Jenna Morogiello-Shaw currently serves as the Director of the Human Performance Lab, Assistant Professor, and Athletic Trainer in the Department of Physical Education. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University, and a Doctor of Athletic Training from the University of Idaho. The University of Idaho is the first program in the country to offer a clinical doctorate for athletic trainers. Dr. Morogiello-Shaw’s specialty is in holistic patient centered care and cutting edge advanced manual therapy techniques. Dr. Morogiello’s doctoral research focused on the use of Primal Reflex Release Technique to treat Type II Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome (“shin splints”). Most recently she co-authored the second edition of the handbook Cram Session in Goniometry and Manual Muscle Testing, designed for students, instructors, and medical professionals.
Dr. Morogiello-Shaw began her professional career as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer and Teaching Assistant at Georgia Southern University and eventually served as the Coordinator of Injury Prevention and Care at Campus Recreation and Intramurals. She and her team provided medical services to club sports, intramural sports, ROTC, University Police, and all other recreational activities. Dr. Morogiello-Shaw also served on thesis committees, was a clinical preceptor to athletic training students, and lectured in the Master’s of Kinesiology program.
