CPT John Mitchell Reid

CPT Mitch Reid is a native of Bartlett, IL. He graduated from North Central College with a B.S. in exercise science and commissioned as a Field Artillery officer in 2017. After completing Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader Course, he was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, where he served as a Fire Direction Officer, Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Brigade Liaison Officer with 3rd Battalion 321st Field Artillery Regiment, 18th Field Artillery Brigade (HIMARS). 

Following Field Artillery Captains Career Course, CPT Reid served as Squadron Fire Support Officer with 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment (War), 3rd Brigade (Rakkasans), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), then as Battery Commander for Alpha Battery (Gators), 3rd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery (Red Knight Rakkasans) at Fort Campbell, KY. While serving as battery commander, CPT Reid deployed in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce. 

Before arriving at the United States Military Academy, CPT Reid graduated from Indiana University with a Master of Science in kinesiology. CPT Reid is married to his wife, Kaitlyn, together they have a daughter, Hallie, and are expecting a son in September 2025.
