Mr. John Palmer, MS, ATC

Mr. John Palmer is originally from Marblehead, MA. He graduated from Plymouth State University in 1995, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with concentrations in Athletic Training and Coaching. Mr. Palmer served as the Athletic Trainer at Terre Haute North High School while earning his Master of Science in Athletic Trainer from Indiana State University in 1996. 

Prior to West Point, he spent 10 years working for The Valley Hospital and Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes NJ. Mr. 

Palmer came to West Point in the summer of 2011, joining the DPE Sports Medicine staff in a dual Instructor and Athletic Training role. In 2016, Mr. Palmer was named the Director of Sports Medicine and continues teaching multiple courses in DPE and serving as the Course Director for PE258, Soccer. In 2023, Mr. Palmer was promoted to Assistant Professor.
