MAJ Joseph Salmento

CPT Joseph Salmento commissioned as a 2LT Military Intelligence officer in 2014 through the U.S. Military Academy. He served as the Brigade S-2 Operations officer for 3rd Infantry Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and then as the assistant S-2 for 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 3-25 ID. He finished his time in 25ID as the collections platoon leader in D (MI) company, 29th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 3-25 ID. He served as the Intelligence Planner for 3rd Armored Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. He deployed with 3-1CAV in 2019 to Korea as the S-2 for 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3-1CAV. After leaving Fort Hood, he earned his M.S. degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. He lives with his wife, Amanda, their son Max, and their daughter Rita.
