Colonel Kirk Ingold is the Director of the Electrical Engineering Program and a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point. From 2016 – 2023 he was the Director of the Photonics Research Center. He has deployed twice for assignments to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, to support theater communications in Southwest Asia from 2010-11 and to Kabul, Afghanistan, in support of Operation RESOULTE SUPPORT in 2016. COL Ingold is a senior member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and member of the Optical Society of America and SPIE. His research interests are in nonlinear photonics, high energy lasers, and optical communications.
