In his role as the Lead Character and Prevention Integrator, Dr. Orin Strauchler advises and supports the United States Corps of Cadets in the coordination of cadet-facing wellness resources, the development of health and wellness training, and the integration of character into these programs. Dr. Strauchler possesses a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from Wright State University and is a New York State licensed psychologist.

Before coming to West Point, Dr. Strauchler served as the Assistant Dean of Student Support Services and Director of Counseling at Mount Saint Mary College (MSMC). He has over 20 years of experience in the provision and leadership of numerous higher education services and departments including psychological counseling, disability services, academic coaching and advisement, tutoring, and violence prevention.

Dr. Strauchler is an experienced trainer in suicide and violence prevention and has developed and implemented training programs on topics including socioemotional intelligence, leadership and team cohesion, counseling skills, group facilitation, and mission development. He has previously presented on topics including sexual assault, intimate partner violence, social media, and wellness integration in higher education.

Dr. Strauchler lives in the Hudson Valley with his wife, three children, and their goldendoodle Penny.
