MAJ Ryan McGovern

Major Ryan McGovern is an Instructor of International Affairs in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy. His research interests include economic statecraft, conflict bargaining, and states’ development of military and security strategies.

Ryan commissioned as an Armor officer in 2015 has served in armored brigades in the 4th Infantry Division and 1st Armored Division, deploying in support of Operations Atlantic Resolve and Spartan Shield. Most recently, he served as an armored cavalry troop commander in 1st Squadron,1st Cavalry Regiment.

Ryan holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a B.S. in Political Science from USMA.
