Major Sam Lowell is a senior instructor and the Operations Officer in the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering, where he teaches General Chemistry (CH101) and Advanced General Chemistry (CH151). He is a 2014 graduate of the United States Military Academy with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. 

Commissioned as an Aviation officer, MAJ Lowell is a UH-60M Black Hawk pilot. His operational assignments with the 5-101st Aviation Regiment included Platoon Leader, Liaison Officer, and Assistant Operations Officer, and included a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Prior to his arrival at West Point, MAJ Lowell commanded C Company, 2-210th Aviation at Fort Eustis, VA.
