LTC Sara B. Mullaney is an Academy Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering at the United States Military Academy, where she serves as the course director for the department’s research courses. She earned a B.S. in animal science from Cornell University in 2001 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Following graduation, she completed an internship in large animal medicine and surgery at the University of Georgia in 2006 and went on to practice equine, small ruminant, and camelid medicine in southern Maine for two years.

LTC Mullaney commissioned into the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps as a direct accession in 2008 and has held a variety of assignments both in the United States and overseas. In 2016, she earned a Ph.D. in epidemiology from Colorado State University. At West Point, she has taught General Biology and Human Physiology and currently serves as both a research advisor and academic counselor.
