CPT Sarah Bailey is from Spokane, WA. She was commissioned as an Aviation second lieutenant upon graduation from Pacific Lutheran University in 2016. She graduated from flight school with a rating in the UH-60 Black Hawk in October 2017. Following flight school, CPT Bailey served as a Maintenance and Flight Platoon Leader, and Battalion and Brigade Assistant Operations in the Assault Helicopter Battalion, the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade at Hunter Army Airfield, GA.
She deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel in 2018, and to Romania in support of the European Deterrence Initiative in 2019. Upon completion of the Aviation Captains Career Course in 2021, CPT Bailey assumed command of Alpha Company, 1-13th AVN REGT for the Advanced Individual Training (AIT) of the Army’s Air Traffic Controllers (15Q) and Aviation Operations Specialist (15P) at Fort Rucker, AL.
Following command, CPT Bailey graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master of Science in kinesiology. She is married to Owen Bailey. They have two boys, William and Jameson.
