Filbert commissioned through the United States Military Academy as a second lieutenant in the Infantry in 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science in art, philosophy, and literature and a Master of Arts in higher and post-secondary education from Teachers College, Columbia University. His assignments include Mechanized Platoon Leader and Armor Company Executive Officer in 1-64 AR, 1ABCT, 3ID. He then served in the 75th Ranger Regiment Headquarters as an AS1 and Special Projects Officer, deploying twice to Afghanistan. CPT Filbert’s tenure in the 173D IBCT(A) includes time as the 2-503D Assistant Operations Officer, the Commander of Able Company, 2-503D, and the Commander of the Brigade Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 173D IBCT(A).
