
CPT Taylor Andrews is a native of the Western Suburbs of Chicago (Elburn, IL). He is an instructor in aquatics and Army Fitness Development with the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
In 2011, he began his military journey at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS). Following USMAPS and 47 months at USMA, he graduated with a degree in human geography and commissioned as an Air Defense Artillery Officer in 2016.
Following ADA BOLC, CPT Andrews served as a Patriot Launcher Platoon Leader, Tactical Control Officer, Executive Officer, and Tactical Director in the 5th Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment. During his tenure, he led soldiers through two strategic-level CENTCOM rotations, defending US assets in Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, and Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE. Upon completion of the ADA Captain’s Career Course in 2021, CPT Andrews served as the Battery Commander of HHB, 30th ADA BDE at Fort Sill, OK.
In 2022, CPT Andrews assumed command of HQ/A 3-6 ADA BN. As Armadillo 6, he led over 150 DA civilians, drill sergeants, and instructors in providing world-class instruction to the newest soldiers in the Air Defense Artillery Branch during their Advanced Individual Training. In 2023, his unit was directly responsible for the planning, execution, and training of 65 Ukrainian soldiers on the Patriot missile system. Following command, CPT Andrews served as an ADA CCC instructor.
After his time at Fort Sill, CPT Andrews graduated from Indiana University with a Master of Science in kinesiology. Most importantly, he is married to his wife, Haley. They have 4 kids together – Oliver (5), Noah (3), Ella (2), and Josie (20 weeks in Heaven).
