Colonel Margaret Nowicki commissioned as an Engineer Officer in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from West Point. She earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire in 2008, and then in 2017, a PhD from the George Washington University, focused on Biomaterials for Tissue Engineering. COL Nowicki is Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. She has taught mechanics of materials, engineering materials, and machine component design and manufacturing. Her areas of interest include materials science, additive manufacturing, biomechanics, and tissue engineering. 2000-2003 – 130th Engineer Brigade, Hanau Germany 2004-2006 – 577th EN BN, 1st EN BDE, Fort Leonard Wood, MO 2008-2011 – Assistant Professor USMA D/CME 2011-2014 – Strength Analyst HQDA DCS G-1/PR 2017-2018 – Strategic Advisor to Director of Marketing, HQDA Manpower and Reserve Affairs 2018-present – Faculty USMA
