COL Nadine Ross is an Academy Professor in the Department of History & War Studies, where she currently serves as director of the Resnick Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and chief of the American History Division. She is committed to inspiring current and future officers to study the past to understand the complex challenges facing military leaders and their roles in preventing future atrocities. As an instructor and mentor, COL Ross is passionate about helping others unlock their potential and achieve excellence.

COL Ross graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2001. After commissioning into the Adjutant General Corps, she served as a Battalion S1 in Germany, commanded the 151st Adjutant General Company (Postal) in Fort Hood, TX, and served as the Brigade S1 for the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division in Fort Stewart. After completing her Ph.D. in history at the University of Texas at Austin in 2017, COL Ross deployed to Afghanistan, where she worked as a Senior Advisor to the Afghan Office of the National Security Council. Since returning to the Department of History & War Studies as an Academy Professor in 2018, she has served as chief of the International Division and the department’s chief of Faculty Development and Talent Management.
