Be a West Point Class of 2029 Cadet for a Day

Are you interested in being a Cadet for A Day? The U.S. Military Academy will conduct its annual community rehearsal for Reception Day on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on the academy grounds.
West Point invites members of the community to assist the Corps of Cadets in preparing for the arrival of the Class of 2029. Participants have the unique opportunity to witness and support the initial transformation from civilian to the military life of a new cadet as they begin their West Point journey.
Be a part of this storied tradition and help West Point prepare for this historic event. Volunteers must register online on the R-Day sign-up page on or before June 25. Please note that online registration will close when 250 volunteers have signed up.
Participants must be 12 years of age or older, in good health and not be a candidate for the Class of 2029. Remember to dress comfortably in proper seasonal attire and bring one piece of luggage, or a duffel bag marked with your first and last name. Additional details are provided within the registration site to prepare for the day.
Those attending should enter through Stony Gate. Proper identification will be required upon entering academy grounds and all vehicles are subject to search. All volunteers that do not have access to West Point, must coordinate with the Visitor Control Center to receive a temporary pass to get on base. It is recommended to obtain a pass before June 26.
Volunteers should report to A-Lot near Michie Stadium no later than 8:45 a.m. on June 26 with the completed volunteer agreement form. Parking is available; however, drop off at A-Lot is encouraged. The rehearsal begins promptly at 9 a.m. and concludes with lunch in the Cadet Mess Hall from 12 to 1 p.m.
